Baxter Blue Woodworks · Montgomery County, Texas

Handcrafted woodwork with a purpose.

Old-fashioned wood pieces for the home, turned one at a time in Dad's shop — and 80% of everything the shop sells goes to local charities.

Meet Russ & Baxter

Dad's the one with the lathe. I'm the one with the good taste.

After years of woodworking, Russ learned how to use a lathe — he's now a woodturning fanatic. I keep him company, sniff out the best grain, and tell him when a bowl's ready — and keep watch for the squirrels.

From Baxter

Buying is what gives back.

80% of everything this shop sells goes straight to local charities — no middleman, no fine print. We don't run a tip jar and we don't ask for donations. Every board and bowl does the giving for us. Buy the bowl, feed a family, keep Dad at his lathe.

  • From the shop

    Pecan & epoxy river table

“I'm back in the shop every day now, and I'm in the mood to start sharing again! Pecan from Texas… I have a few leftover pieces of Pecan I will get some handsome bowls from. GLAD to BE BACK!”

  • How it happens

    Segmented turning, in five steps

“Segmented turning is a multi-step process: 1) cut small 'segments' with a special jig on the tablesaw, 2) glue up segments to form a ring, 3) glue up the rings in multiple levels, 4) turn the bowl/vessel like it was solid wood, 5) sit back and enjoy your labor of love!!”

  • Fresh finish

    Infinity whiskey decanters

“Just finished these infinity whiskey decanters for some great buyers! Three are made of solid walnut and the blue one is made of curly maple with a blue wood dye.”
